Secret Island

Nice, beautiful area! Free parking and restroom on site. We did the full day but had to return early. Lots of beach chairs to use. Many options to sit in the sun or in the shade of the many palm trees there. Had quite a few large groups so don't expect it to be a quiet getaway. Kayaks, small boats, boogie boards, several games like ping pong, cornhole and volleyball were also available, all at no additional cost. There are also snacks and drinks available for purchase. We decided to drive ourselves to the boat dock where they will shuttle you to the island (short smooth trip with no "at sea" motion). If staying for the full day they provide a box lunch of a large roll-up sandwich, chips, fruit, brownie and a drink. We certainly enjoyed our time there and do recommend a visit!

Let me start by saying…amazing and a great relaxing day!! Great experience! All you have to do is type into Google maps ‘Secret Island Check-In Desk” it pops right up and boom is great service from the desk. We already reserved the 11AM-3PM and just had to check on the day of the tour/adventure. We checked in at the desk and because we drove our own vehicle the check-in clerk gave us easy to follow directions. If you do drive your own car keep in mind, parking will be a little tricky because there may be limited spots. Personally I wouldn’t want to spend an entire day there because I love lagoon like waters. If I do spend the day there I’d get on the sand beach tour ALL DAY! For those who love standing paddle boards, kayaking and sunbathing an entire day would be for you! Learned about the secret island as well prior to boat departure. We got on a boat with a quick ride to the other side where the scenery is so calming and beautiful. It was worth every minute!

If you’re staying in a nice resort with options to kayak or paddle board do not come here. I don’t know why my wife decided to leave a beautiful area in the south east of the island but there’s not enough seats to sit and the ones that are available are rusted. The grounds are a dated so be warned. Depending on where you are coming from will define how you’ll feel about this place.

We came here because we had to go city pass for the week. So it was "free" for us to go. You have to go to the main ranch building a little farther north up of the road and sign in. They give you directions to go to a parking lot with a dock. You ride on a boat with 50 odd people across the lagoon to essentially a giant sandbar with trees and picnic tables. It's like you paid to go to a beach that was set up for you to enjoy. They have volleyball nets, kayaks,paddle boards etc. They have a big double canoe that they will help you paddle out to the little sandbar in the ocean so that you can stand up on and look back at the beach. We went in the winter time. It rained most of the time we were there. The views were still really pretty The sand was soft. Plan on bringing whatever you think you need for 5 hours to take with you. You can take whatever you want on the boat such as coolers. A lot of people were bringing beer over with them. They sell food on the sandbar didn't look cheap. Plan for the weather to be wet.
